5 Tips to make your move lighter
December 10, 2014

Packing and organizing tricks can save hours of packing and makes it easier for us to load it up in the truck. We found a good article by Peggy Wang that shows some of the best ideas for packing your belongings. Here are just a few excerpts that we liked:

Cover the openings of your toiletries with saran wrap, then put the tops back on.

Nobody wants this stuff spilling. You can even set them aside in clear tote or container so that you know what you’re handing.

Take a photo of how your electronics are connected so you can remember how and where all the wires go.

This may sound silly, but a lot of time can be saved by pulling out your phone and taking a quick pic.

Cut down on boxes by making all of your baskets, laundry bins, hampers, and suitcases work for you.

Pack them with stuff! Use the wheeled suitcases for heavy things like books. No sense wasting space or creating a tipsy stack of wicker baskets.

The fastest way to pack a closet: wrapping a trash bag around all your hanging clothes.

This also keeps your clothes on their hangers, for much faster unpacking. If you plan on putting anything in storage, this will also keep the dust off.

Keep up the good work Peggy. You can read the rest of the article here.
